Oh~Vacation

Until now, everything should be fine, and I almost could have a deep breath and do not need to worry about the university, the applications, the courses and the schedules. It’s done! Totally have been done. Maybe one thing that I need to take care is the courses because few of them are not in a right time, and I try to change the time let it becomes perfect. So, how are you guys doing here, are you all right, have you done everything? Ha, maybe there will not have any responses here, because we all enjoy our vacation, don’t we? And I would like to share the perfect time which we spend on the travelling and that is really fantastic.

On August 27, four of our classmates, Mahmoud, Mahammad, Aaron and I, we went to Mont-Tremblant which is located on the north of Montreal and it takes almost 2 hours to go there. It was our place, it was our time. We rented a pretty car, and Mahammad drove the car to take us to the destination. We sang, we talked and we enjoyed all the way. After we reached the Tremblant, the temperature is a little bit cold, but the air and the environment which I could make a comment is fabulous. The mountain, the forest, the lake and the beach show to us a natural cycle. We played badminton, soccer and the boat. We took huge number of pictures in order to leave this beautiful time in our mind. Actually, I really consider to touch the environment is good for our body and out mind. Perhaps that is the definition of my life. During the nightfall, we got the way to Montreal.

After this trip, I took a determination to get a driving license. It is absolutely useful and with its help, you almost can go anywhere. Last time, I heard one of my friends who is study in the United States said he drove his car form city Buffalo to Seattle, what a unbelievable driving way, it nearly takes 10,000km. However, that is really terrific.

Living in Montreal----Week 9

Montreal, even though I just have been there 8 months, still gives me a deep impression. I arrived in Montreal on January 4th, 2009 and at that time, Montreal was very cold and the sky was dark at 4 or 5 o’clock. I came alone, and did not know anybody. Today, I cannot image how I could pass that time, maybe I got support from my parents. After I could suit the environment in Montreal, everything was going to be fine like I met new friends. One thing I want to mention was that the people in Montreal were really nice, not only the teachers, but also the teachers. When I had some questions or problems, the people are friendly to help me to solve every problem.

As I lived longer, the knowledge of Montreal also increased. The relationship of our classmates is becoming strong. Sometimes, on weekends, we went out to have a picnic in Mount-Royal. Everyone enjoyed the time and we talked and shared to make the atmosphere to be fine. Even in summer time, Montreal has a beautiful fireworks festival in the amusement park La Ronde. Those best friends of us are interested to see the fantastic show. Personal idea, I indeed LOVE all of them, the style of life. Consequently, the work time is for working, and the rest time is for enjoying.

This weekend, my friends and I went to Village de Fitch Bay to see the Bleu Lavender and meteor shower. What a fabulous time we spend! I cannot forget that. At the beginning, we saw the lavender, after that we went to an astrolab and learned a lot about planets. In the evening, we made a barbecue and campfire. All the people sat together and talked every interesting thing. Eventually, we saw the meteor shower, that beautiful situation will exist in my mind forever.

Well, I found that I fell love about Montreal, the people, the thing and the life.

Discrimination-----Week 8

In China, I think discrimination exist in few aspects, especially for gender, economic class and sexual orientation. As we know, China has a huge number of population, and most of people are coming form country. So, it is hard for families to have girls. They do not have as much labour as boys, consequently, when country families has a girl, they may prefer to have another child. However, in cities, this kind of discrimination is not as serious as country. There has awareness that boys and girls are equal. In fact, this discrimination exists for a long time, since ancient time, people thought boys were better than girls. Economic class is also a part of discriminations in China. Some areas’ economy is better, and those area people prejudice other poorer area people. Or some people is rich, and they prejudice poor people. They thought they are the best in the world; they could do anything they want to do. That is a shame, they are lack of inner quality, they lose the principle of being a human, and that is why sometimes our country has argue on the living locations. Eventually, sexual orientation also is a kind of discrimination. Maybe by the influence of our education, it is hard to be a gay. By the traditional idea, almost all the Chinese cannot image that homosexuality is happened around themselves. So, if we found somebody has strange sexual orientation, they will be discriminated by us. All of them are the biggest discriminations in China, other aspects are exists, but they are not very obvious.

Actually, I do not discriminate against any groups in particular. I know that different people have different idea, different culture and different life style. No one is bad and no one is good. I think when someone was discriminated, they must did something that unaccepted by general people, however, there never have any groups are considered to be discriminated.

Speaking of the experience of discrimination, unfortunately, I think the unhappy thing was when I came in Canada and living in Quebec. Well, obviously, I am form foreign country, and the local people do not like the alien people. For example, one day my friends and I were going to play bowling ball. Before we entered the door, the guide asked us to show ID card (only passport is acceptable, student card is unavailable). We did not bring them and he asked us to leave. And we angered that we were the only people that be checked. So, we asked him why only us, he answered that he selected people to be check. Although, we were angry, the only thing we could do is leaving. Sometimes, discrimination comes suddenly and unbelievable. And we knew that, foreign people are treated as unfair way.

I do think it is impossible for anyone to be completely unbiased. The society we are living, the culture we are educated and the way we are thinking all influence our mind. More or less, we do not like other areas people’s living style and that becomes a kind of discrimination. Anyway, do not put our own expression when we meet some new views or things.

Desire

What is our desire? Are we influence by that? Will we lose our principle to reach our point? Or in order to get our destination, we can do anything, even to kill somebody.

The video ‘Button’ is really talks about actual things, it reveals human’s desires deeply. Obviously, money is one thing which we need during our own life. Everyone wants to earn more money, but if the way to earn money is to kill somebody, will you still do it or not. I think the video is classic, because of the ending. After the woman got the money by pushed the button, somebody who is not known by the woman was killed. And the machine will give to another one that means the woman maybe will be killed one day. I think when she the result, she must regret to pushed the button and got the money. However, what is done cannot be undone; she has to pay for that.

Whether we indeed need money or not, we cannot get them from somewhere or somebody without working. We struggle and we won and that is we deserve to get. No matter how beautiful the result somebody promises to you, the only thing that we can believe is ourselves. The future is in our hands, that will never drop from sky.

World Population

Population explosion, high population destiny, aging society, the world population is becoming a more and more serious problem, especial in somewhere. Some developed countries’ average age is become older, and these societies do not have enough young labour to support country developing, such as Japan and some European countries. On the contrary, developing countries’ population is increasing quickly and lots of migrations are coming to city which from country. All of them are the present situation of world population.

I do think population is a serious problem in all around world, but we are not hopeless. Nobody could image how a society keeps working with seniors. No labour force and there is no production. Another problem is population is limited by resources. Food, water and living areas are the present issues to face. Non-renewable resources are the biggest obstacle, although, today we have some next generation. We still can not use renewable to instead non-renewable. No limited population increasing could lead those problems, and the most important thing is we just have one planet Earth.

However, all the problems can be coped, if country or society has awareness to deal with them. For example, China has one-child policy, and that is quite effective. Consequently, the policy of the country is the key to solve those problems. Citizens prefer not to have children because of the working pressure. So, more welfare is an intelligence idea. To develop cities is also a kind of way to reduce city’s density. Actually, Developing countries and developed countries have different problems. So, a real related on present situation and nation’s policy is the way that all the countries are struggling.

Anyway, the problem is coming and exists in front of us. We can not wait the population is reached 9 billions and start to looking for solution. It needs to be thought and worked.

Be a Man

What is the real man’s definition? For a long time, since I was a child, mother and father always told me that to be a man. I was told that to take responsibility, to take determination for struggle goal, etc. Now, today, I learned from Nick Vujicic that nothing can beat a man. Nick Vujicic, a man has no arms and no legs, does not lose the faith to live. It was really hard to him to get up when he fell down without any help. But he did it, he showed to people when he failed 100 times and he still had energy to try NO.101 times. And he came to school to encourage students to become strong. To be honest, when you failed, it is really hard for yourself to pick everything up and start again. However, Vujicic did a great job; he did not lose the brave to life. Nick Vujicic gave a man like this! That is all we need to respect and learn!

Fair Trade(Comment)

We call this is fair, because this trade is equal for everyone and working balance. By the improving of globalization, fair trade is becoming more and more common and which is used to generally. Fair trade has benefits not only on farmers, but also on workers, consumers. Famers are big winners, they are able to make more money form the fair trade, and which can developed business skills. For example, if the products have a high quality, farmers can receive a better price. In fact, lots of farmers lose their price by the unfair trade that is why Fair Trade is mentioned nowadays. I think that is the unfair competition in the market. We found that lots of companies want to have the goods with low price and high quality. And producers want to earn money; they have to reduce the price of their products. However, that is absolutely unfair, good products can not receive a good price. Consequently, fair trade gives everyone a balance deal system, although, that is a challenge, everyone has their responsibility.

Pay for Future

Before the article, I would suggest you to watch the video ‘The Story of Stuff’. The video give us a idea about where are the ‘stuff’ comes from, and how we consume with these ‘stuff’. The web address is http://www.storyofstuff.com/

More and more stuff are made by useless, by folks’ vanity. We do have lots of desires which are able to achieve by consuming stuff. However, the only thing we have to face is weather those stuffs are necessary or indispensable. In fact, we are affected by our environment or the atmosphere which we are living. We hope to catch and keep the trace of the fashion. Definitely, we do not want to somebody who said you suck in our life. That is why we hope and try to buy more.
Consequently, where are the stuffs come from, firstly, they are not exist in the shopping mall at the beginning. All the stuffs are made from variety resources, timber, metal, stone, wool, chemical production etc. To make the stuff means to collect the materials. Not all the materials are in the same area, people need to extract from all over the world. Actually, some developed countries prefer import resources from developing countries which were called the third world for example the timber. Furth more, production also exhaust huge of pollution gas like the dioxin. So, a large numbers of resources are used and huge of toxic gas are exhausted. We are running out of resource and using too much stuff. In the world, one third of resource were consumed, we are cutting down trees so fast. For example, United States has 40% of water which is undrinkable and the country which has 5% population in the world but need to 30% of resources. If all the countries’ situations like this, we may need 3-5 planets to live, but the point is we just have one.
Goods are bought and used into visuals for spiritual satisfaction. When we saw the national happiness line, we could figure out the satisfaction are not as well as before any more. Folks work to buy but that not enough, 3,000 new advertisements are made everyday that lead people to buy a new stuff. Nevertheless, what are the stuffs going to be, 99% of them are becoming trash, not 20% or 50%, exactly is 99%. After we lose the passion of our stuff, we burned and bury down into land. As a matter of fact, we do have another way to deal this obstacle that is recycling. Frankly speaking, a big problem of recycling is not all the countries have this awareness. In China, garbage bin is more important than recycle bin. Even though, lots of areas do not support those things. However only recycling is not enough. The final goal is no recycling; everything can be used as 100%.
At least, today, we have not seen such a terrible problem, but we do consume the resources for future. What about our next generation, what should they do after we used out of the resources. Although, recycling is a reasonable option, there are still have lots of objects can not be recycle. Rethink what is you needed and why you want it before you buy something. As it is said, buy green, buy fair, buy local, buy used and most important, and buy less.
